Am I allowed to upload images from this page (eg. Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google, …)?
It is not legally permitted to upload images without specific consent. This also applies to non-commercial pages (e.g. articles, blog entries, Facebook pages), because these are also freely accessible publications. But since I am always happy when my work pleases, I am happy to support exciting contributions and we can find a solution in consultation. If necessary, I will also make more material available. Just write a mail!
Am I allowed to link to the page via URL? Linking and sharing is always allowed and of course I would be very happy if you would like to support me! However, the condition is always the indication of the author and a clear naming of the original source. This is the only way to help all participating artists! Please use e.g. the following text block: Costume & Design: Lenora Costumes Photo: (Please add photographer) www.lenora-costumes.com firstname.lastname@example.org All rights reserved.
Am I allowed to modify Lenora products and resell them? In general, such use for commercial purposes is not permitted by law. All work may not be changed or imitated without permission in order to then sell it on. Resale is only permitted in the unchanged original condition and with the appropriate identification of the brand.
Can a work shown in the gallery be made again?
All works shown here are examples of individual productions and absolutely unique items. They are not for sale and will not be made again exactly like this. But I can always design something new for you in the style.
Can I have a design sewn or reworked by another person?
That´s a clear No: Please do not be disrespectful to the intellectual property and work of others. All rights are reserved to all my designs, because the ideas of every designer are his daily bread and property. In addition, it would be unfair to every customer who has his dream garment individually created. You certainly wouldn’t like that either!
I have ideas for my dream clothes myself. Can I have something made according to these?
Each creation is designed individually. All your wishes can and should therefore flow into the concept in the design process! Please note that I do not rework completely predefined designs, but always only my own designs, which I personally develop for you based on your specifications.
I would like to have a 1: 1 cosplay or an specific outfit from a certain source. Is that possible?
In any case, I respect the intellectual property of other artists. For legal and moral reasons, I do not reproduce sources or designs from other artists, labels, films, animes, etc. under any circumstances. It is possible to choose a source e.g. from film and television, which then serves as a suggestion for a new creation and is interpreted by me in my style for you.
Which licenses do you have ? With the license from Ulisses Spiele Gmbh I am able to create clothing from the “The Dark Eye” universe.
How does the ordering process for custom-made products work? First you contact me directly by email and tell me your wishes as detailed as possible. I will get back all your questions, e.g. give you an assessment of the price and effort. If everything is okay with you, I’ll reserve a place on the waiting list for you. When it is your turn, you will receive an email with all the important documents (measurement form, down payment invoice). Warning: Only here do I bindingly accept your order! If it doesn’t suit you at the moment, I can of course plan your project for a later time. Otherwise it starts immediately!
What sizes are there?
All items are custom made, ie. made based on your own personal measurements.
Do I have to come by for a fitting?
I usually work in such a way that a fitting is not necessary and we can handle everything online. For very elaborate pieces or especially wedding fashion, however, I recommend trying them on so that you can make any adjustments during the process. Otherwise, your clothing will be sent to you by post and I will always make adjustments to the fit if something is not yet perfect.
Do you also do men’s clothing?
Yes, I manufacture for women and men. You can find some examples under the references.
Can I get a pattern?
No pattern of custom pieces will be sold, so that these works remain unique pieces. There will be selected patterns and tutorials in the shop that you can buy in your size.
Where do you get patterns from?
All patterns are created by myself in order to achieve an optimal fit. I never work with bought patterns.
Can I buy a garment material?
Here you can only buy ready-made clothes, no ingredients and fabrics. Sometimes leftover pieces are offered in the shop if some space needs to be created in the studio. Unfortunately, I cannot give you any sources for materials, because these are always searched for anew or obtained from exclusively commercially accessible dealers.
To which countries do you ship?
I ship worldwide! The shipping costs depend on your shipping adress.
I have not yet received an answer to my mail. How long do I have to wait?
Usually you should get an answer within 1-2 weeks. I have no access to e-mails in the workshop and only answer messages one day a week in the separate office. I go through all the messages one at a time, but sometimes I can’t get through all of them at once when the workload is high.
If there are delays (e.g. illness, vacation, breaks), you can find status reports on my social channels (Facebook & Instagram).
If you don’t receive an answer within a month, your email may not have arrived. In that case, just send them back again.
Nobody will be forgotten and I will always get back to you!
How long before the desired date do I have to contact you?
Since I pay the utmost attention to every single project, you should be patient. With the exception of wedding fashion, I do not accept any fixed appointments and process all custom-made items in a limited time contingent per week in a fair manner. Since the scope or circumstances of projects change from time to time or unforeseen delays occur (illness, accident, technical failures, delivery delays, …), schedules vary in the long term and I can only estimate this without obligation. In case of doubt, please email me about the current state. In any case, I will do my best to provide you with an all-round perfect product that you can look forward to with such a long wait.
-> At the moment all capacities are fully booked and I am not accepting any new orders. If the situation changes, I’ll announce it again.
How long does the production take?
That depends in particular on the complexity of your order. Basically, you should assume 1-2 months as soon as it is your turn and your deposit has been received.
Can I get a garment from you faster?
Unfortunately, the waiting time for custom-made products cannot be changed. But if you don’t want to wait that long, take a look at the shop! There are fantastic models in many colors and fabrics with which you can put together your own outfit. The production here takes about 3-4 weeks, some items are even in stock.
How is a price calculated?
The price of a project is based on the effort or the time it takes to manufacture it – from concept to delivery – and is calculated at an hourly rate. Clothing development in particular (design, material search, pattern creation) often represents the most complex part, the costs of which can only be distributed over several parts in a larger production (collections).
In addition to wages for employees, the hourly rate for pricing includes, in particular, fixed costs, e.g. for the use of tools and machines, rent, electricity, fees and many other expenses. In addition, there are the direct material costs for the product, as well as any taxes (e.g. VAT). The general rule is: The more effort is required for a production and the fewer products per development are ultimately produced, the higher the price. Individual custom-made products are therefore always priced significantly higher than a part of a collection that is produced several times.
How much does a garment cost?
The more time-consuming and complex your project, the higher the price. But don’t worry: There is a suitable concept for every budget! When I work out your design, I also calculate the costs in advance and discuss everything with you in detail before the production starts. As a rough estimate, you should at least assume the following price ranges on average:
Individual items of clothing from € 500, complete clothing sets from € 1000, wedding fashion from € 1500 (including VAT).
Is it possible to get the clothes I want for less because I don’t have that much money?
Unfortunately, prices are not negotiable. But I am happy to work with a fixed budget and get the best concept out of it even on a small budget. Bargains and inexpensive models are regularly available in the shop!
When do I have to pay?
The payment for custom items is conveniently divided into two installments: Only with a deposit of approx. 30% -50% of the estimated final price do I start with your design. Once your dream robe is ready, the remaining amount is due.
Why is the deposit necessary?
The design phase already includes many complex work steps that of course have to be rewarded. If you cancel the order at this point, the work already done will be offset against the deposit and the remaining amount will be refunded. The down payment is also necessary for the procurement of materials, as I cannot explain all costs in advance.
If I cancel, can I have the design made elsewhere?
The design remains the intellectual property of Lenora Costumes and may under no circumstances be used without written permission. In no case will you acquire the license to use the design if this is not recorded and negotiated in a separate contract. Please remember that every design is a designer’s daily bread and that copyright always applies. One cannot simply use or modify the works of others without permission.
What do I do if I don’t like the clothes?
Legally there is no right of return for individual work based on customer’s request (see “Terms and conditions”). In the creative phase you will always be closely involved and I will keep you up to date with pictures in the creative process. So you can already specify change requests here.
What do I do if the clothing doesn’t fit?
If your custom-made garment does not fit, please write an email immediately and I will correct it right away. It can happen that the fit still needs to be optimized, especially without fittings beforehand. It is important to me that everything is perfect all around and see it as a natural service or part of the process. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to a notification at a much later point in time.
If there is a measurement error on your part, I unfortunately cannot accept any liability. But if the change corresponds to my possibilities, I will always be happy to make it and adapt your clothing. However, I then have to invoice the new costs for the extra work.
Can I visit your workshop? Unfortunately, the studio is not a public shop and spontaneous visits are therefore not possible. Only in the case of a custom-made product do I give appointments for fittings, for which we can then comfortably meet.
