Am I allowed to upload images from this page (eg. Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google, …)? It is not allowed to use and upload pictures without a personal permission. Please just ask before you want to use our images. This also applies to non-commercial sites (e.g. blogs, facebook pages) and uses, because these are always freely accessible publication. We are happy if you like our work and can gladly find a solution in consultation, if necessary also provide more material.
Am I allowed to link to the page via URL? Linking and sharing is permitted, of course, and we are very happy if you would like to support us! Naming the author and a clear link to the original source is required, because only this way is a support for all involved artists. Please use e.g. the following text: Costume & Design: Lenora Costumes Photo: (Please add photographer) www.lenora-costumes.com email@example.com All rights reserved.
Am I allowed to rework one the costumes? That´s a clear “No” – Don´t be disrespectul on other people´s intellectual property and especially our customers. On all designs the brand Lenora reserves all rights of ownership/ copyright. It is expressly forbidden to imitate, to copy or modify them. A reproduction in other colours or slightly different details is still a copy.
Am I allowed to modify Lenora products and resell them? Generally, a use for commercial purposes is not allowed. All creations of Lenora are protected designs and not allowed to be altered or used without permission. A resell of any product is just allowed if the item is in original state and labeled with an appropriate identification of the brand.
Would you reproduce one of your costumes ? All the works shown here are examples of individual productions and absolutely unique pieces. They are not for sale, but we can always design something new in the style. Collection parts from the shop are, of course, reproducible at any time.
I have some ideas for my costume. Can I get something like this? Each project is individually designed according to your wishes. Therefore all your requirements can be considered in the design process. But we do not produce specific designs, but only works that bear our handwriting.
I want a 1:1 Cosplay or a reproduction of a foreign design. Is it possible? We have a high respect for the work of other artists. We will not reproduce other designs due to copyright and moral issues and do not produce cosplays from a certain source. Exceptions are official projects for the companies and designs under a free license (eg. historical clothing). But it is possible to orientate on a certain model – for example, movies – as inspiration for a new creation.
What licenses do you have? We have a license from Ulisses Spiele Gmbh for the production of clothing from “The Dark Eye” universe.
Can I get a pattern? Basically, we do not sell our patterns, but only finished clothing.
Where are the patterns from? All patterns are self-developed.
Can I buy a fabric, which has been used for a costume? We sell exclusively finished clothing, no ingredients and fabrics. Unfortunately, we can not give you any sources for materials.
In what sizes do you produce? All work is tailor made and based on your own personal measurements. No matter what body proportions you have: We make your dream garment fit for you.
Do you produce fashion for men? Yes, we do fashion for men & women. You can find a lot of examples of las projects in our references.
Order Process and Waiting Time
How is the order process for custom products? First, you can contact us directly via email or our contactform. There are already some fields prepared with important details for us. We will answer you as soon as possible and get back to all your questions, give you an assessment of the price and the production. If everything is alright for you, we reserve you a place without obligation on our waiting list. When it is your turn, you will receive an e-mail with all the important documents (conclusion of contract, measurement templates, down-payment invoice). Of course, if you do not like to start with your project at the time, we can push your place further back. Otherwise: we will start immediately.
I haven´t received an anser on my mail. How long does it take? With the multitude of messages that reach us, this can take some time. We want to give every customer a high level of attention so that it is not possible to cope with all mails at once. Basically you should receive a response within 1-2 weeks.
How long before the desired date do I have to contact you? Since we pay a lot of attention to each individual project, you have to bring a little patience until you have the turn. From the date of entry into our waiting list until the start of the project, you should plan 1 year to wait for a customized production. For companies we have a different working schedule: Here a message at least 3 months beforehand makes sense.
How long does the production take? This depends in particular on the complexity of your order, basically 1-2 months.
Which delays are there? Delays may occur in case of illness or vacation. On the Facebook page you will always find the latest status messages.
Is it possible to get my outfit faster? The waiting time for custom products cannot be shortened. But if you need an outfit right now, there are a lot of nice offers in our shop. The production takes about 3-4 weeks, but some items are in stock and can be shipped immediately.
Prices and Payment
How a price is calculated? The price of a product includes several complex components. The development of clothing, in particular, is the most expensive part. These costs can only be distributed over several parts in the case of a larger production/ collection. It includes processes of designing, material concepts and making all the patterns. In addition, there are fixed costs e.g. for the use of machines, rent and fees, which are included in the pricing. Furthermore there are the direct material and production costs, as well as any taxes (such as VAT). In general, the more time or more material is required for a product, the higher the price in the end.
How much is a costume? Individual productions depend on the effort involved. In general, the more time-consuming and complex your project is, the higher the budget will be. But do not worry: There is the right concept for every budget! When we work out your design, we also calculate the costs beforehand and discuss everything in detail. We have three price ranges in which we can put together suitable offers for you.
What are the differences in the price ranges? Our three price categories are: Basic, Classic and Luxury. These differ in the type of materials, the complexity of the design and the production techiques. For example, the basic price range means industrial processing, while the luxury version includes couture techniques and a lot of handwork. In terms of price, it is also difficult to give an estimate beforehand – without clues or concept. As an average, you should go for a complete costume about: base from 350 €, classic from 600 € and luxury from 1200 € (including 19% VAT). For an assessment of your project, just write us an email or use the contact form.
Is it possible to get my costume for less, because I do not have so much money? Unfortunately, prices are not negotiable. If you want, we can work with a fixed budget and do the best with that. In the shop you can find pieces on sale regularly.
When do I have to pay? For custom-made products, we will start with a deposit. When the product is finished, the remaining amount is to pay. So we can split the price comfortably in two parts. Why a deposit is necessary? Each creation starts with the design process before production. This phase includes a lot of extensive work, which has to be paid of course. If you cancel the order at this point, the already done work will be deducted from the deposit and the balance will be refunded.
Where to you ship to? We ship worldwide. The shipping costs depend on the country of origin.
Return and Cancellation
If I cancel after design phase, can the concept be produced by others? The design remains as property of Lenora and is not allowed to be used without a written permission. You do not acquire a license.
What if I do not like the costume? Due to law there is no right of return for individual work on customer request (see “Terms & Conditions”). In the creative phase, however, you are closely involved and in any case we find a solution.
What if the costume does not fit? If your custom made costume does not fit, please contact us immediately. In this case, we will improve it right away. We can not respond on a notification of a much later date. For measurements that were incorrectly measured by you, we can assume no liability. If there is a measuring mistake and it is possible for us, we would love to help you with that. Unfortunately we have to take new costs into account.
Can I visit your workshop? Unfortunately we do not have a public studio and visits are not possible. Only with a custom order we give dates for a possible fitting.
Can I apply for an internship? Unfortunately there is no capacity to supervise an intern.
Where can I find all news? Is there a newsletter? All current information can be found on the Facebook page and here on the website. A newsletter is currently not available, but you can subscribe to follow the blog.
