A long journey.
Creating fantastic fashion has been a part of my life since I can remember. Many years of hard work are now behind me, during which I completed my studies as a fashion designer and founded my own label. Time for a little excursion into the past!
I knew very early on that my heart beats for fantastic costumes and fashion history. Many works from the early years shapedand strengthened my design handwriting. In 2005 the first works under the name Lenora Costumes were published on the internet and in various magazines.
The aim was initially to try many different topics in order to further educate myself and learn. For example, I supported stage events and LARP conventions as a costume designer and created a complete collection of costumes, but also designed clothes for friends. Over the years I grew in my tasks and reached a level of training that I took as an opportunity to register my business and accept paid jobs. I did this as a sidejob while still studying fashion design at the HTW Berlin.
In 2011 I finished my fashion design studies with a “Master of Arts” degree and wanted to gain professional experience first. Among other things, I had the opportunity to do a research job on historical clothing (German Archaeological Institute) and got a lot of impressions that gave my view of fashion a new perspective. Then I worked as a designer in a fashion company that produces license clothing for well-known fashion shops. There I designed clothes with prints from licenses such as Disney, Marvel and many other brands that have been sold internationally. Seeing people with my designs on the street – that was amazing!
In all jobs I was able to expand my knowledge in various areas and gain new experience, for which I am very grateful. On the side, I still ran Lenora Costumes as a sidejob, which at some point was no longer manageable alongside my full-time job.
My dream didn’t let go of me! The workload seemed to explode and I had to make a decision. I quit my fulltime job and now fully concentrated on my own business. I am incredibly grateful for all the customers who make this possible for me and I am now putting all my passion into the label!
In the meantime, I often work in cooperation with some talented artists on larger projects and would like to expand the team in the future. The creative exchange and the addition of various specialist areas offers many new ways to develop, learn and grow beyond yourself.
In the last 10 years an unbelievable archive of references has emerged. Under Lenora …:
– … more than 400 costumes for events, films, weddings and private customers were made .
– … more than 100 own projects for practice purposes were realized .
At this point, I would like to thank all the supporters, motivators and customers of the last years! I hope for many more adventures and the opportunity to bring some more dream garments for you to life.
